About MyConvert
MyConvert is a free online file converter. It has 51 tools for PDF, images, documents, spreadsheets, audio, and video, and it works in any current browser with nothing to install and no account to create.
Who runs it
MyConvert is operated by Abdulkadir Babaoglu - CoreSoft Software Technologies, a software business. Questions about the service or how your data is handled can be sent to [email protected].
Why it exists
Converting a file should be a small job. You have a photo a form will not accept, a PDF that is too large to email, or a Word file that has to become a PDF, and you need it done now. Too often that small job turns into a sign-up wall, a watermark on the result, or an app to install. MyConvert does the conversion and gets out of the way.
How it works
- You choose a file in your browser. It travels to our servers over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- The file is checked against its declared type and scanned for viruses. Executable files are rejected.
- A conversion worker on our server produces the new file, and you download it from the same browser session.
- Guest files are deleted automatically 30 minutes after the job finishes. Member files are deleted after 24 hours, or sooner from the account page.
The software behind it
Conversions rely on well-known open-source software. Office documents are laid out by LibreOffice, audio and video go through FFmpeg, and uploads are scanned with ClamAV. The conversion engine builds on the MIT-licensed Filee project. The licenses page lists the notices.
What we will not do with your files
- We do not sell your files or share them with other visitors.
- We do not keep them after the retention period above.
- We do not add a watermark to anything you convert.
The privacy policy has the full details, including what is kept in security logs.
How it is funded
MyConvert is free and has no paid plan. Advertising pays for the servers. Ads load only if you allow them in the cookie settings, they never cover the Download button, and converting works the same either way.
What it cannot do
We would rather be clear about the limits than have you find them later. There is no text recognition (OCR), so a scanned PDF cannot become editable text. Guest uploads are limited to 25 MB per file and member uploads to 100 MB. Converting a file cannot add detail that was not in the original.
